On 15 October 1945, Ramboll was founded as the "Rambøll & Hannemann" partnership in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Since then, Ramboll has evolved to be a leading international engineering, design and consultancy company at the forefront of innovation.

The group now employs close to 10,000 people in 200 offices worldwide with a significant presence in Northern Europe, Russia, India and the Middle East.

In March 2011 Ramboll acquired Gifford, to create one of the UK’s strongest and broadest multidisciplinary engineering and consultancy groups approaching 1000 employees.

From the engineering design of buildings and infrastructure to the management of precious resources such as water and energy, Ramboll’s services have a broad application in the built environment and beyond.

Current and recent projects include the Fehmarn Belt Link, Tate Modern’s extension, the Forth Replacement Crossing, the Ferrari World Theme Park and the London Array wind farm.
