Skandium

The first Skandium store opened September 1999 in Wigmore Street, London W1.
It was to be a complete lifestyle presentation of Scandinavian modernist design comprising of furniture, lighting, rugs, blinds, tabletop wear, gifts, books, magazines and much more.
We called it ' The united Nations of Scandinavian design'.

Skandium has developed a continuous relationship with architects, interior designers and contractors, delivering all types of products for small and large projects.

We offer Interior Design Service, again for any size project both for private and commercial customers.

Our stores and online shop provide  very popular Wedding List Services frequented by national and international customers and celebrities.

In 2003, the Skandium cofounders Magnus Englund and Christina Schmidt released the book 'Scandinavian Modern' through the publisher Ryland, Peters & Small. The book has since been translated
into Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish, French, Norwegian and Swedish and has a separate English edition both for Australia and the US market.

Since then we have opened a second store in Brompton Road and a concession in Selfridges on the lower Ground floor and are operating the retail part for the Fritz Hansen store in Margaret Street, off Regents Street.

Skandium is actively building the brand by own manufactured products from furniture to table top wear. The ranges are continuously expanding.

We are currently employing 50 members of staff at Skandium, from 14 different nations.
